We are professional groomers and our full service includes bath, clipping as necessary, claw clip, blow dry and skin health check. Even the shortest dog's coat needs some care, and grooming can also reduce the amount of hair shed around your home. The right amount and type of grooming for your dog will vary depending on what kind of coat he has and we can advise on the best approach.
Regular grooming not only helps your puppy look good, but is important to remove dead hair, maintain the health of the coat and skin and check your pup's general health, especially when you collect them from the litter. Starting early means dogs get used to being handled and this also makes any vet's examinations much less stressful in the future.
Just like human nails, dog claws grow constantly. Many dogs naturally wear their nails down by walking and play, especially on hard surfaces. Inactive dogs may not wear their nails down, and older dogs can favour grass and softer ground. so their nails may not naturally wear down as much. If claws get too long it can put pain and pressure on the toes and paws, which will ultimately put strain on the legs. So it's important to keep them trimmed and and at the correct length. We clip claws as part of a full groom or as a stand-alone service.
Microchipping is a simple, safe and quick procedure which can make all the difference in being reunited with your pet should they stray or go missing. The microchip is the size of a grain of rice and the procedure takes only a few minutes and lasts a lifetime.
From 6 April 2016 all dogs in England need to be microchipped by law, and you'll need to keep your contact details up-to-date. We are authorised implanters and use the UK's largest lost and found pets database, Petlog, which also has an online app. We are also authorised to chip cats, rabbits and ferrets!
